Open Source Image Sharing

Store and share images on your own website.

What is Pxl?

Pxl (pronounced as 'pixel') is Max Korlaar's open source image sharing and hosting platform built for sharing and hosting images easily on your own website and server.

The project is built on top of the PHP framework Laravel and may be freely forked on Github. If you would like to contribute to the project, you are entirely free to do so. Unlike the previously closed-source, this project is intended to be fully self-hosted and managed. I do not provide a free or paid service to the public, in the hopes of people enjoying the project themselves and improving it. Pxl does have a feature to allow public registrations, but for private instances you should keep this disabled. Options to configure Pxl and make it more customizable to your likings are still under development. One of my main goals with Pxl is to provide everyone with their own personalized image sharing platform, allowing you to change the branding and preview pages as you wish.

As of now, there is no extensive manual or setup guide, but many important functions are already implemented, and you're free to set up Pxl on your own web server right away! Functionality which I found important that I've already implemented includes, but is not limited to:

If this sounds good to you or you were already a fan of the concept, then feel free to try out Pxl for yourself – It'll be completely yours, as you'll have to set it up on your own server. It's completely free and you can get it on GitHub.
